Vignan University organizing IUCEE Workshop on Data Mining on 7th - 11th july 2012.
The Indo US Collaboration for Engineering Education (IUCEE) program was conceptualized by over 150 leaders of engineering education and businesses from US and India in 2007 to help create good quality engineering talent in order to find solutions to the global challenges facing humanity such as energy, environment, health and communications.
Data mining has attracted a great deal of attention in the information industry and in society due to the wide availability of huge amounts of data and the imminent need for information and knowledge. The information and knowledge gained can be used for applications ranging from market analysis, fraud detection, and customer retention. A new technological leap is needed to structure and prioritize information for specific end-user problems. The data mining tools can make this leap. Quantifiable benefits have been proven through the integration of data mining with current information systems, and new products are on the horizon that will bring this integration to an even wider audience of users.
In this context, data mining helps Web search engines to find high-quality Web pages and also enhances the Web click stream analysis. The Vision for the future is to make WWW the ‘Universe’ for data, information and knowledge. The web can reach its full potential when the web services are improved, comprehensible and usable. The development of techniques and architectures for more effective integration and mining of content, usage, and structure data from different sources will lead to the next generation of more useful and semantic web services — Intelligent web services.
