What is a Computer?
Even a toddler can answer this question. Now days everyone is a computer user and in reality it has become an important and unavoidable tool for all. As earlier, it is not just confined to a particular set of practices; instead, it has spread its foot prints in almost all the major domains. It helps to cure diseases, it reduces the work, and it also works as weapon. To know more about this wonderful machine many aspirants choose Computer Science Engineering as a Career.
What is Computer Science?
Computer Science Engineering is the study of information and computation theoretical foundations and their application in computer systems. Computer Science Engineering involves understanding the software programs to be installed, software to be updated and software to be created. Though its beginning dates back to 1940's, computer science engineering is still young as it has been motivating more and more students to do things effectively. Computer Science Engineering provides a platform to the students to adapt new technologies and new ideas. In short Computer Science Engineering is the study of principles, applications, and technologies of computing and computers.
Why Study Computer Science?
Career in IT/CS is considered as highly rewarding and is full of opportunities particularly in countries like India where Computer Science Engineers are recognized for their Software Development abilities across the globe. Numerous IT companies from India employ huge number of Computer Science Engineers in their Indian and overseas offices. Career in Computer Science Engineering is projected to be one of the fastest growing professions for the next decade to come as it has been so in the last decade. Rapid employment growth in field pf Computer Science which require qualified software engineers have paved a way for fabulous opportunities for computer science graduates with at least a bachelor’s degree. And if a graduate completed his Masters the companies come down and hire them at the most attractive pay. The demand for Computer Science Engineers will grow rapidly because every country has built their growth prospects around the so called Computer Science Engineering.
Computer Science Engineering Requirements:

IT and Computer Science:
If it is being referred in general there is no much difference between IT and CS as both are related to the study of Computer Science. But if we observe carefully a lot of difference exists between both. Computer Science is a process, where as IT is an application. Computer Science creates usable computer programs and applications together, where as IT uses those programs in the required fields to solve business processes. Some institutions combine both IT and CS modules under one umbrella popularly known as 'Computer Engineering'. IT and CS intricate together and step into the business world for automated and quicker solutions.
A person who has sound command on all type of programs that are to be executed and mainly coordinate in construction of the computer systems of the organization, maintaining them for future growth is said to be a software engineer. Students interested to become software engineers should have good communication skills, problem solving skills, and analytical skills to interact with team members. Also good concentration levels and eye for details is required as they often deal with number of tasks daily. They are also called as Computer Programmers.
Computer Programmers work mainly on two broad types: applications programmers and system Programmers. Application Programmers work on specific tasks such as to track inventory in the organization, and Software Programmers work on writing programs, work on networks and database.
Opportunities in Computer Science:
Computer Science provides lot of opportunities for both fresher and experienced engineers. These days, many Bachelors before the completion of B.Tech are offered Software Engineering jobs from top MNCs. Top Engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh are being visited by the top MNCs every year to conduct campus placements and recruit the students for various software engineering positions. Computer Science Engineers are found to be the creamy layer to get filled up first.
